Have You Been "Burned" On An Outsourced Project?
 |
|
If so, you're not alone...
Regrettably, it seems like
everyone who has tried outsourcing an embedded project has run into trouble
at least once...
Almost every one of our
customers has talked with us about a previous outsourcing "horror story".
(Often times it has made it that much harder for us to get our foot in
the door.)
Outsourced development doesn't
have to be a nightmare, although as the stories show, the development partner
you choose can have a significant impact (good or bad) on your project. |
| Read For Yourself
We have we've heard from customers
(and potential customers) about projects they've contracted out.
So why are we bringing experiences
like this to your attention? Won't they just scare people off?
Well, before we can expect
you to trust us with a project, we think it's important that you
know we understand the position you're in.

Bait and Switch
Sure, everything is wonderful
until the sale. But once they have your money, the tapdance begins!
People are hard to get a
hold of, deliveries are late, the code isn't stable and no one's accountable.
Oh, you want some information
or help with that???? Good luck! |
| Less than you bargained for
Many software outsourcing
firms appear to have embodied a new concept: loyalty-free development!
They'll tell you whatever they have to in order to get the development
contract, and then they'll take the money and run!
You don't have to worry about
any run-time loyalties from these firms-- in fact, you may never even get
the software running in the first place! |

| There is hope
The silver lining in all
this for ECS is that once a company has given us a chance, and once we've
delivered for them, they don't go anywhere else when they outsource a project. |

Outsourcing does work when
you choose a team that values each project as an opportunity to demonstrate
what can be achieved in a cooperative relationship - the results will leave
you on "Cloud 9"! |
